Its circuit design is based on OC-2 with some modifications. Two new octave effects are added in the OC-3 octave effects pedal, drive and polyphonic octave mode. For OC-2 fans, you need to turn the mode switch to receive the classic dual octave effect.

Two Brand New Octave Effects

The OC-3 octave effects pedal features two octave effects, drive and polyphonic. With the polyphonic mode you can add octaves when playing chords. This pedal features an evolutionary step taken by Boss. Switch to drive mode and strum your guitar with aggression for achieving powerful bass in the tone. The octave pedal features a special mode dedicated for OC-2s traditional dual octave effects. It allows you to blend the original tone with the tone one octave below and the tone two octaves.

A Place for Bass Players Too

The Boss OC-3 includes a dedicated input for bass guitars. When you connect your bass guitar with the OC-3 octave effects pedal, it automatically revamps its settings to suit the heavy sound requirements. OC-3 provides stability for bass players when they generate an octave effect.
